The brief
For an elderly couple in Srirangam who wanted their pooja room re-done before their grandson's upanayanam. We carved a traditional teak mandapam with miniature gopuram detailing, set into a granite-base platform. Concealed brass diya cove lighting throws warm uplight on the deities at evening pooja. A separate niche houses the family's Bhagavad Gita and ancestral photographs. The carving alone took our master craftsman six weeks.
